Easter time getting to know the people of the Holy
Land through our Educational Tour of Jordan and the
West Bank.
At East-West Initiatives our passion is to
build relationships of understanding, trust and
love between people of different cultures and
religions by creating opportunities for friendships
and learning.
In March East-West Initiatives invites you on a
10-day educational tour of Jordan, Palestine and
Israel, giving you the opportunity to see the
important sites, to meet the people, and to
experience the heart of the Middle East. We aim to
provide you with opportunities to spend time with,
and get to know Jordanians and
Palestinians.
Cost: $1200 per person.
This price includes transportation for the whole trip in comfortable, air-conditioned tourist buses, English- speaking tour guides, entrance fees, honorarium for our hosts and speakers, accommodation in 3 and 4 stars hotels on a half-board basis (bed, breakfast and dinner), in double rooms.

March 16th: Arrival
Upon arrival at Amman’s Queen Alia Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to the hotel in Amman. There you will meet with East-West Initiatives Staff and others on the trip, and rest from your journey.
Day One (17th): Amman & Jerash
Begin the day with some cultural orientation, teaching you how to thrive and survive in Jordan. Then you will visit Amman’s old market places and impressive Roman amphitheatre. In the afternoon travel to the ancient Roman city of Jerash, an hour from
Amman. See the impressive ruins and the old paved streets. Enjoy an Arabic buffet meal there before returning to Amman and visiting some of the modern hang-outs and hot spots, giving you the opportunity to meet and spend time with people.
Day Two (18th): Mount Nebo, Jesus’ Baptism Site & The Dead Sea
Drive to Mount Nebo where Moses looked across into the Promised Land and died. Enjoy panoramic views of the West Bank, the Dead Sea and the River Jordan. Next visit Jesus’ baptism site with a qualified guide, before enjoying a buffet lunch and relaxing in the unique waters of the Dead Sea. Return to Amman for more free time getting to know the city and people.
Day Three (19th): Petra & Wadi Rum
Set off early in the morning to Petra, the city carved out of the rocks, and witness this modern-day wonder of the world first-hand. An experienced guide will help you to learn about the city. Travel then to the majestic desert of Wadi Rum. Enjoy a camel trek and
the sunset before eating dinner around the camp fire and sleeping under the stars.
Day Four (20th): Wadi Rum & Kaan Zamaan
Wake to watch the sun rise on the mountains of the desert and enjoy a jeep trip together in the desert. Other activities, such as abseiling, can be arranged depending on the nature of the group and your desires. In the afternoon head back to Amman, stopping at the Kaan Zamaan restaurant for an open buffet of Arabic food. Free time in the evening for relaxing and relationships.
Day Five (21st): Amman
Catch your breath again in Amman, enjoying a rest day and an opportunity to explore the city further and meet with people you have got to know. We will also provide opportunities for community service projects if you would like to be a part of that.
Day Six (22nd): Galilee
Travel across Sheikh Hussein Bridge into the West Bank, then tour around the Sea of Galilee. Visit Mt. Beatitudes , Tabgha , St. Peter primacy, Capernaum, and take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. At the end of the day drive to Nazareth for dinner and
stay there overnight.
Day Seven (23rd): Jerusalem
Spend Easter Sunday in Jerusalem, entering the Old City through the Dung Gate, visit the Wailing Wall, the Dome of The Rock, and the Al Aqsa Mosque , and walking the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Then have a Political Tour with ICAHD (the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions) around Jerusalem. Eat dinner & stay overnight in Bethlehem.
Day Eight (24th): Haifa & Nazareth
Start the day by visiting the Arab Human Rights Organization, then visit the Church of the Annunciation &Mary’s Well. Drive to Haifa, visit Prophet Elijahs Church on Mount Carmel, and from there go to Caesarea. Eat dinner & stay overnight in Bethlehem.
Day Nine (25th): Bethlehem & Hebron
Begin the tour in Bethlehem, visiting the Church of the Nativity, the Shepherds Field, and Solomon’s Pools. Lunch with Christian Families, then visit one of the refugee camps in Bethlehem. Drive to Hebron to visit the CPT and the Ibrahimi Mosque. Enjoy dinner in the Tent Restaurant and stay overnight in Bethlehem.
Day Ten (26th): Jericho & Qumran
Visit the ancient city of Jericho, and Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Departure via Sheikh Hussein Bridge to Jordan, and fly from Queen Alia airport.
